Yes, it is free to all students!
What is the Holiday Blitz: A lot like our regular school and summer programs but done in shorter period of time. Holiday Blitz gives students a chance to learn about investment and personal financial literacy. The Blitz is only 20 days long, but jam packed with information and resulting in prizes for many of our participants. The more sponsors we have, the more prizes we can offer. So contact your local businesses and friends in various industries to join in on sponsoring. Often, many of our student's parents also participate in the sponsorship which starts as low as $5.
What to expect: After registering, most students will receive a verification email within 48 hours. This email is very important because it will give the student a log in, parent authorization and links to the classes. Due to COVID all programs have moved online. The positive way this move has affected the program is that Moment of Change is now offering the program to students across the US.
- Once you have verified your registration using the information mailed to you. Students can begin.
- Students are expected to attend at least 1 session a week but encouraged to attend more. Live sessions are scheduled to fit most time zones.
- Students will participate in variety of activities that will enhance their knowledge of financial literacy.
Which program should you chose?:
Stock Exchange: Students will participate in virtual cash investments in stocks. They will participate in short term investments, learn how to research stocks, investment twits, stock market trends and what is the difference between short term and long term investment. At the end of the session, the student with the highest stock value will win the grand prize. All in person sessions are recorded for students to listen to and catch up on anything they missed out on.
Personal Finance: Students will participate in virtual personal finance budgeting. Each student will complete a survey that shows their future desires (home, apartment, transportation, etc). Once that is determined, students will receive a virtual income and begin the adventure of personal finance. Like real life, they will be met with unexpected highs and expenses (a work bonus, unexpected car repair, etc). This is our most popular program among all age groups. The person with the most Personal Finance points wins the grand prize. (Point guides are given to students at the start of the program and it is based on a work/life point system).
Do all participants receive something?:
Yes, certificates are provided to all students who complete the program. If sponsorships are high, all students will receive a share of what is provided by any sponsorship that exceeds the current prize structure.
